Hey there, I’m Beth and I’m really happy you found your way here to Those Simple Things!
I am a local Nana Glenian and often have quality handmade, homemade or homegrown items available for sale locally. You can often find me at small country markets around our Valley or you can purchase directly from me by heading to my website or YouTube Channel at:

This free website (and youtube channel) is designed to encourage everyone to explore, imagine and create a simple life that celebrates the handmade, homemade and homegrown! These have free posts and videos that share information and ‘how to’ demos on all sorts of handmade crafts, home cooking, veggie growing, painting and lots more, so if any of that interests you, please go have a look!
I try to keep our life as simple as possible and truly find joy in the little things, the stunning colours in a sunset, the sound of a giggle or the warmth of a hug, the excitement when something pops up in the veggie patch, the satisfaction of creating something beautiful, or the sound of something homemade being enjoyed, it’s all those small and simple moments that create the magic.
Enjoying the handmade, homemade, homegrown and reusing, recycling, repurposing something no longer useful was instilled in me at a young age by my beautiful mum and grandma. So for me, creating is heartfelt, it brings back wonderful memories of them both each and every time I get creating or growing! I remember fondly knitting with my grandma, watching in awe as she ‘picked up’ all my dropped stitches in my very ‘holey‘ scarf, amazed as she knitted so fast her needles blurred. I have many wonderful memories of helping my mum make jams from fruit we’d picked off our trees, patting butter into squares after churning the milk from our cow into butter, gathering veggies for dinner from the patch, learning to sew on the old push pedal sewing machine (which I still have!) and mastering the art of baking yummy family recipes passed down through the generations. And now newer memories are being made as my son and I enjoy all these together as well.
So head on over there, grab your yarn, paint brushes, glue guns, gardening tools, pots and pans and let’s get busy creating something magical together with our own hands (you may even need your feet and teeth at times too!). Don’t worry too much about where to start; choose something that resonates with you and remember, your first attempt doesn’t need to be perfect, creating is about enjoying the ride!
Happy Creating!
